Propel® Sinus Stent
For patients undergoing sinus surgery, we offer the dual-purpose benefits of the Propel® sinus stent.
A combination stent and medication-delivery platform in a single device, the Propel sinus stent is a spring-like implant used by our ENT surgeons to hold open the sinuses after sinus surgery while at the same time delivering controlled amounts of steroids right into the target sinus tissue.
Much like the Latera® nasal implant, it's meant to naturally dissolve into the body after a period of time – usually a month to a month and a half.
At ENT & Allergy Center of Austin, we use the Propel sinus stent to help improve the outcomes of our patients undergoing surgery for chronic sinusitis.
The innovative stent decreases post-operative scarring and inflammation, reducing the need for additional surgical procedures as well as oral steroids and their potential side effects. Thanks to the stent's lightweight design, patients usually cannot even tell it is there.
